Why You Should Tint Your Windows

Tinting Your Windows

Introduction:

Windows really give the exterior and interior of your home distinction, elegance and allows light into your home. However, windows can be a great source of heat loss in the winter, heat gain in the summer and the ultra violet light sun rays can damage your home and furniture. Installing a tinted window film can reduce the harmful effects of the sun rays and save you money or heating and cooling costs.

Here are several good reasons why you should tint your windows:

  • Window tinting minimizes heat loss and heat gain through window glass.

  • Window tinting protects carpets, drapes and furniture from fading.

  • Window tinting can reduce the sun's damaging ultra violet rays by 80%.

  • Window tint makes windows safer by preventing injury and  damage from broken glass.

  • Window tint will reduce glare and offer privacy.

One of the primary benefits of window tinting your windows is to lower your energy bills.  The window tint film reduces heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer which saves you money on fuel and electricity. It also lowers the loss of air conditioning in hotter months. This makes your home more energy efficient and more comfortable.

Most all homes suffer from sun damage to drapes, carpets and furniture. Without window tint the curtains are usually closed during the day to protect the interior of the home from the sun rays. This makes the room dark which requires keeping lights on during the day time. Window tinting film can greatly reduce the damage caused by the sun on the house interior and permit natural light into the house.

Window tint also offers a degree of safety and protection against shattered glass. When a window that does not have a protective film is broken, glass fragments are sprayed throughout the room with risk of personal injury and damage to the interior. Windows with a tinting film stay attached to the glass even when it is broken. The film also makes the window more resistant to breakage from storms.

Applying window tint is an easy DIY task that most homeowners can do in a few hours. The tinting film is simply attached to the window glass with an invisible adhesive. Window tint will save energy consumption and protect the interior from damaging sun rays.
