Types of Home Hearting BoilersWhich Type of Home Heating Boiler Is Best For Your Home
Introduction: There are several different types of home hot water boilers used in home heating systems and several different manufactures. Although most homeowners only want to know that there boiler is going to keep them warm or produce hot water there are differences between these boilers in the way they work which should be understood and determine which boiler is suitable for your home. Conventional gas boilers are used to heat the cast iron coil in the boiler through which water passes through and is heated. With this kind of boiler hot water is not generated on demand but heated and stored in a copper cylinder. The gas boiler is very reliable as there are fewer elements that can malfunction and they are easy to control. These conventional gas boilers can cost more but they lower maintenance costs during the life of the boiler which is about 25 years. It is suitable for most property homes. The combination boiler (gas or oil) heats the water in the same way as the conventional gas boiler with the additional capability of providing the home with heated water. A secondary hot water heating system isn’t necessary. This is the most popular boiler used in homes today. The oil fired boiler is less expensive to operate simply because heating oil is cheaper than either propane of natural gas in most locations. The combination boiler is an excellent heating and domestic hot water system for nearly any home although the maintenance requirements on the oil fire boiler is slightly more than the gas fired boiler. There is also a third multi fuel boiler. The multi fuel boiler can run on gas, oil or solid fuel such as wood or coal but requires an open flue to remove the smoke and potentially dangerous gas they generate. They produce heat for the home as well as domestic hot water. All boilers come in different sizes with different power outputs. When purchasing a boiler ensure you choose the right power output for the size of your home. The size of the boiler is determined by the amount of house heat lost which is usually calculated by the heating specialist where you purchase the boiler. These are the types of home heating boilers commonly used to provide heat and domestic hot water in homes today. Related articles: Plumbing With Plastic PVC Pipe Remedies for Septic Tank Problems
