In most cases a clogged drain can be remedied using Liquid Plumber and a plunger. Usually hair or food is clogging your drain which with a little help with the plunger will pass through the drain pipes. Frozen pipes: The best way to deal with frozen water pipes is to take the necessary action to insure that they don’t freeze. Insure that any water pipe in a cold spot in your house is well insulated and the area has some form of heat to keep the temperature above freezing. Once a water pipe is frozen it is not likely that you will be able to thaw it out without damaging the pipe. This is the time to call a plumber to remedy the problem unless you have sufficient plumbing experience to do it yourself. Broken toilet flush handle: Broken toilet flush handles are a common plumbing problem. If you try to flush your toilet and the handle doesn't work it is most likely a broken handle. This is an easy problem to remedy. Simply visit you home improvement supply center and purchase a repair kit. Remove the toilet tank lid and replace the broken handle. Replacing the water heater: Having a failed water heater is more common than you would think especially if it is an electric water heater. Unfortunately there is little warning that a water heater is on the verge of failure. You can wake up in the morning and be surprised that there is no hot water. This is the time to call a plumber.
