Work Gloves

Prevent Injuries with Work Gloves

Introduction:

For many DIY projects and chores around the house work gloves are as essential for protecting your hands from injury or from the cold. Good high quality protection or safety work gloves offer protection from physical injuries without compromising dexterity and the ability to perform intricate tasks. In addition, work gloves will prevent injuries.

Whether you need latex gloves to protect your hands from paint and other chemicals or heavy duty gloves to ensure the safe operation around power tools and moving heavy objects, they are essential to protect your skin and hands from injury. There are countless types or heavy and light work gloves that are designed to prevent injuries. All work gloves they can be divided into a few broad categories.

1.    Disposable latex work gloves:

Disposable gloves are inexpensive and will protect your skin from contamination when using paint, gasoline and other chemicals. Disposable polyethylene gloves provide a barrier without affecting dexterity The major disadvantage of latex work gloves is that many people suffer allergic reactions to latex and the talc used to lubricate the inside of the gloves. In these cases specialist gloves are required that are designed for people with sensitive skin.

2.    Rubber work gloves:

Rubber work gloves provide protection from chemicals and hot water, making them invaluable around the home. Rubber gloves are cheap and provide excellent grip although they may adversely affect dexterity and the ability to perform some complex tasks. Rubber gloves are impervious and allow sweat to build up which can lead to chafing and heat rash.

3.    Light cotton work gloves:

Light cotton work gloves are made of cotton and flock lined PVC. They are cheap and resilient, offering good protection from mild chemical abrasion. They are common in the construction industry and gardening. Light gardening gloves are woven from nylon or cotton and usually incorporate suede padding across the palm and fingers. These gloves protect the hands from stinging plants, friction blisters and light abrasion. Better quality gardening gloves are made from goatskin or light leather.

4.    Medium and heavy leather work gloves:

Medium protective gloves are practical and comfortable work gloves that incorporate a tough plastic mesh and heavy duty fabric to provide good protection from physical and crushing damage without adversely affecting manual dexterity.   Medium work gloves offer an excellent compromise between price, protection and grip, so they are commonly used for working construction projects. These gloves do not give a large amount of protection against heavy blows, but they act as a good barrier against cutting damage and their loose weave allows the skin to breathe.

Heavy protective gloves are great for gardening. They are made from fabricated leather or suede, usually incorporating heavy-duty suede reinforcement on the palm and fingers to increase protection and grip. These gloves provide excellent protection and comfort as the leather and suede allow moisture to evaporate. They are a little stiff until they are broken in.

You can prevent injuries with work gloves when working with tools or performing heavy construction projects. Finding the best type of protective work gloves is a matter of balancing comfort and cost while providing the protection you need.
