Decorating with Tin Ceiling Tiles

Faux Tin Ceiling Tiles

Introduction:

If you are thinking about refinishing a ceiling there are several different choices as to what type of ceiling you want. The typical ceiling is a sheet rock ceiling with different finished designs that fit your décor. Tin ceiling tiles in the old fashion design are frequently being used to finish ceilings. If you want to renovate the look of the ceiling of the kitchen, bathroom or basement there are several great options in tin ceiling tiles.

All metal ceiling tiles are manufactured to withstand moisture and corrosive damage but tin ceiling tiles are more durable than others. Tin ceiling tiles will add character and beauty to any room.

The most popular type of ceiling tile available is the tin tile. Original tin tiles have a long history in home decorating. There is a large collectors market for the classic tin tiles that were used long ago. Tin ceiling tiles are manufactured in different sizes of tin panels and are quite easy to install over an existing ceiling.

Faux or fake tin ceiling tiles have become very popular because they are much less expensive than real tin tiles. They provide the same warmth and charm as the traditional tin tile at a fraction of the cost. Fake tin ceiling tiles can be applied to nearly any different ceiling surfaces. While fake tin ceiling tiles are typically used on ceilings, it is also possible to apply to walls for a decorative effect. Fake tin ceiling tiles are often used to create backdrops and other visual effects.

While most ceiling tiles are easy to install you can install fake tin tiles in a matter of minutes. The installation process for installing ceiling tile involves positioning the tiles and attaching them to the ceiling either with glue or some type of small nail.

Faux tin ceiling tiles are substantially less expensive real tin tiles and they make for a great DIY project. Fake tin ceiling tiles are very lightweight and easy to work with.  Faux tin ceiling tiles make your remodeling inexpensive and easy to complete.  You can completely transform the look of your ceilings at very little cost. There are a variety of different styles that you can choose from that will match your existing décor.
