Modern carpet tiles
are similar to the old style carpet tiles as they
are made from real carpet materials. But modern
carpet tile is Eco friendly as they are made from
recycled material rather than the synthetic
material the old tile was made from. In addition,
you can mix or match colors and styles rather than
have a single color or style for your floor.
Modern carpet tile
is made of 70% recycled resources and are
recyclable themselves. Because they are made from
recycled material they are priced more reasonable
than regular carpets. You can stay with one or two
colors or you can go with five or six or choose
from a range of different patterns to make a really
cool looking floor. This can be a lot of fun for
kids when they want to decorate their own room. And
if you change your mind on the tile pattern design
you can just take up the individual tiles and
replace them with a different one.
Carpet tile
is easy to install. Normal carpets are either
nailed or glued down. Carpet tiles are extremely
easy to put down and remove. Usually there is a
protective sheet of material on the back side of
each piece of tile. Simply remove it and the tile
is glued to the floor when it makes contact. There
is no need for nailing strips, nails, or additional
glue.
Carpet tile usually
comes in one foot or two foot squares pieces. This
makes them easy to handle and lay in place. To
determine how many pieces you need simply determine
the square feet of the floor you want to cover and
divide it by the size of the tile you plan on
using. A room that is twelve by twelve feet would
compute to be 144 square feet. If you are using the
one foot square tile you will need 144 pieces. If
you use the two foot square tiles then you will
only need half as many. You may want to purchase a
few extra pieces so in the event that you want to
remove a damaged piece the replacement will be from
the same color lot.
Installing modern
carpet tiles is an inexpensive way to carpet a
playroom or home office. It is an easy DIY project
that can be completed in a few hours on a week end.
