Bio Fuel Fireplaces

An Alternate Heat Source

Introduction:

In the world order of energy conservation and environmental protection a new type  of fireplace has been introduced. Homeowners have had many different choices of fireplace designs and types to choose from. Now there is a new one, the bio fuel fireplace.

Although homeowners can still choose to have a traditional fireplace built permanently in their homes, those with smaller homes such as an apartment can opt for the portable or wall mounted and eco-friendly fireplaces. These new bio fuel fireplaces are equally as beautiful as traditional fireplaces and are capable of providing sufficient heat. Bio fireplace

The bio fuel fireplace is ideal for smaller homes such as apartments and condos and smaller areas such as bedrooms. They are also great for people with allergies. If you haven’t been paying attention, the bio fuel fireplace is taking the place of gas fireplaces in apartments and condos because they are much less costly and are easy to install as a DIY project.

The big difference of bio fuel fireplace from the traditional type is the absence of a chimney. Unlike the wood burning fireplace or gas burning fireplace, this type of fireplace burns bio fuel which does not require a chimney. This means that they are environment friendly and are an alternative to the more expensive fossil fuel or electric fireplace.

Bio fuel is a well known renewable form of fuel that does not pose hazards to the environment. The reason is that bio fuel can be produced by using agricultural crops such as fruits, grains, potatoes, sugar beets and corn. Bio fuel ingredients are readily available in most local areas so there will always be a steady supply in the future.  In addition to being environment friendly, bio fuel has many other advantages:

·       It is more energy efficient than wood by 40 %. A quart of bio fuel can burn for two to four hours.

·       Bio fuel does not emit smoke or unpleasant odor. It only produces steam and a little amount of carbon dioxide.

·       There are no ashes left after burning which eliminates any mess to clean.

·       It produces the same warmth as a traditional fireplace.

·       Installation is easily done by the homeowner.

·       No maintenance required because there are no ashes and dirt.

·       Can supplement any type of heating system.

Caution Note

As a note of caution you will need to open a window to provide a little additional ventilation.

Bio fuel fireplaces normally a box type designed with a cover and can be moved from one place to another. Some models can be wall mounted making them ideal for areas with limited floor space. Because they are movable, they are more convenient to use.

Homeowners can also choose different design and material for the firebox such as stainless steel or a combination of wood and steel or they can be customized to suit your tastes and needs. A bio fuel fireplace can be a great addition to your home and it can also provide an adequate amount of heat for a small room. The cost of bio fuel fireplaces can run as low as $200 up to $600 depending on the size and the design you choose. The wall mounted fireplace model is easy to install.
