Outdoor Ceiling Fans
Ceiling Fans
Overview: An outdoor ceiling fan is
designed for use outdoors. They are convenient for
keeping outdoor air circulating and cool during the
warm months of summer. Outdoor ceiling fan is quite
different from indoor ceiling fan as they must
withstand the harsher outdoor weather such as
moisture and high temperature.
I was recently visiting a friend in Arizona where
the weather is very warm most of the year and the
air is very static. On his outside patio I noticed
three outdoor ceiling fans for air circulation. The
fans had automatic switches that turn the fans on
as the heat of the day increased. They did a
fantastic job of circulating the static air,
cooling the patio significantly.
Outdoor ceiling fans can add a lot of pizzazz to
your backyard patio, especially if you choose a
model that matches your outdoor decor. Outdoor
ceiling fans are becoming more and more popular in
areas that experience hot temperatures and dry
conditions such as the southwestern regions of the
United States. An outdoor ceiling fan is
constructed so that it can withstand outdoor
weather conditions including heat, wetness, cold,
dirt, and dust. When purchasing an outdoor ceiling
fan insure you buy a reputable brand that is built
to last.
Outdoor fans must also be able to withstand extreme
changes in temperature and continue to function.
They are usually made of stronger material than
indoor ceiling fans and are weatherproof against
moisture.
The main reason people install outdoor ceiling fans
is to improve air circulation in their outdoor
living space. They can add a lot of comfort to an
area that is normally stagnant and hot. In hot
climates it can be difficult to stay outdoors in
the heat and humidity. An outdoor ceiling fan can
make a backyard patio much more tolerable and
comfortable.
