Installing a Security Camera

Protect Your Home with a Security Camera

Introduction:

Security cameras were devices that only large companies used as a tool for maintaining security in a place of business such as sales store or warehouses. That has changed in the past decade as we see homeowners installing security cameras in their homes. Technology has advanced to the point that security cameras have become miniaturized.

Small security cameras can easily be hidden behind pictures frames, wall clocks and inside fire or smoke detectors. In fact security cameras can be installed almost anywhere. Nearly any object in any room can be used to hide a surveillance camera to monitor and protect your property.

If you are curious about who may be at your door a security camera can be located inside your door spy hole so you can observe who is ringing your door bell. These security cameras can be completely wireless so no complex wiring is necessary. All video information can be stored in full color on the camera's hard drive or on discs similar to a digital cam-recorder.

Small security cameras have a lens that is as small as 4mm in diameter. These small lens cameras make it possible to hide the camera most anywhere. These hidden wireless cameras provide discrete security surveillance of your home and yard. Infrared lens gives the camera night vision.  If they are intergraded with a security alarm system you can be warned of a prowler before he breaks in into your home, giving you plenty of time to call for assistance.

The cost of installing security cameras is less expensive than you would expect. They start at approximately $45 for the basic camera and work up toward $500 for the more sophisticated high resolution cameras. A simple black and white outdoor security camera with a surveillance monitor and infrared capability for darkness is the ideal unit for a home security system. Integrated microphone for audio capability is also available as an option.

As part of your home security suit I recommend a home security camera to monitor your front and back yard. You cannot be too cautious when it comes to protecting your family and your home.
