Bathroom Wall Sconces

Introduction: If you are thinking about a bathroom upgrade consider the light fixtures too. Bathroom lighting has taken on a whole new look with wall sconces. Bathroom wall sconces can really change a passé bathroom into a bathroom of elegance.

In recent years wall sconces have become the bathroom lighting of choice because of their ability to light up the bathroom interiors in the best possible way.  Bathroom wall sconces are the choice above all other lighting fixtures when it comes to selecting light fixtures for the bath interiors. Bathroom designers and DIY home improvement remodelers are installing wall scones over and above all other bathroom lighting fixtures available. The demand is so high that lighting supply centers are having difficulty keeping up with the demand.

Installing a wall sconce is quite easy for most DIY homeowners with a little bit of electricalWall Sconce experience. You really do not need to be a professional electrician to install a wall sconce. All it takes is to install an “after work” electrical box in the desired location and snaking a wire to it from a light switch.

The “after work” box slips into the wall hole and fits flush to the wall. The actual light sconce mounts to the box with two mounting screws. Or you can select a plug in wall sconce rather than installing additional wiring. The plug in sconce has an on/off switch at the base of the sconce.

Wall sconces come in many different designs and styles that vary from singleWall sconce 2 bulb to multiple bulbs. In most bathrooms there are at least two wall sconces either mounted on different walls or on each side of a mirror. Mirrored wall sconces have a reflection mirror behind the light bulb that provide a lot more lighting than regular light fixtures. Bathroom wall sconces can be used for vanity lighting in place of ceiling lights. Most of these fixtures use very low wattage light bulbs so the amount of energy consumption is a lot less than regular bathroom lights.

If you are considering a bathroom remodeling project consider changing the entire bathroom lighting design to include wall sconces. They will give your bathroom a whole new look of elegance.
