Most people that already have purchased solar lighting will tell you that solar lights pay for themselves within a couple of months. If you are ready to slash your energy cost and still enjoy accent lighting, solar lighting is the way to go. Solar lights come in a wide variety of styles, shapes, and sizes. They can be close to the ground providing an indirect shadow light to the surrounding area or they can be as tall as a light pole providing light to major sections of your yard.  Solar spot lights are frequently used to light flags that are displayed at night or light a front door. They are also great driveway markers to guide cars up and down the driveway and pathway markers around your home and garden walkways.

Solar Lights have a small solar energy cell that charges a battery during the day from the sun's light. At dusk they turn on automatically and remain illuminated during the night. The lighting time depending on how much sunlight they receive during the day. They must be placed in a position where they receive as much direct sunlight as possible during the daylight hours. If they are placed in a shady location they will not illuminate at night.

Most brands are not affected by the rain because they are waterproof.  The light fixture contains rechargeable batteries which are charged by solar power during the day. The batteries can last for many years before they need replacing. Solar lights do not provide the same amount of light as standard electrical lighting lights; however, they are easy to be installed and maintained.
