Installing a Cooking Range Vent Hood

Vent Hoods

Introduction:

Cooking range vent hoods can be found in most kitchens. They prevent pollution within the kitchen area and home by removing pollutants, scents and cooking smells. A properly installed kitchen vent hood vents heat and cooking odors outside and helps keep kitchen surfaces free of grease and particulate matter.

Cooking range vent hoods are ideal for keeping oil smells from permeating the environment in the kitchen and entire house. They are particularly important when frying foods that require vegetable oil and butter to avoid obnoxious odors, smoke and vapors.

When installing a cooking range vent hood it they are usually vented directly to the outside of the home through a vent stack to the outside wall. Some hoods do not have an outside vent and instead use a replaceable charcoal filter to clean smoke and odors from the air. They are available in different sizes and strengths, as well as noise.  Hoods come in many different styles and sizes that are mounted above the cooking range. They are usually three to four inches larger than the cooking range. For example, a 36 inch stove would generally have a 40 inch vent hood.

Most cooking range vent hood also contain lights help light the cooking surface of the cooking range. These lights are long lasting and heat resistant. They are often used as kitchen night lights.

A vent hood is really a necessity for trying to maintain good interior air quality in your house. Vent hood go a long way to protect the home's occupants from poisonous gases, which include carbon monoxide, smoke, and any grease build-up that can cause fires.

Stylish vent hoods are very prevalent in modern homes. They are installed higher than a typical cooking range hood and are often designed and decorated in a fashion that adds character and charm to the kitchen.
